Queen you shall be... by SingerofIceandFire Queen you shall be... by SingerofIceandFire
"Queen you shall be... until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear"

1) Sansa
2) Margaery
3) Arianne
4) Daenerys

Well Cersei's hell bent on proving Margaery's her prophesied queen, which means she's ignoring other possibilities.

I didn't add Myrcella because, she might possibly become queen but she has been mutilated severely so there's no way she's more beautiful than Cersei and also "gold their shrouds" which means she'll die before her mother. If she was the prophesied queen shouldn't she surpass Cersei?
My main theory is Sansa :D

She has a long personal history with Cersei compared to others in the story, Sansa has been her victim, and someone Cersei can vent on, Joffery and Jamie have been removed from Cersei directly or indirectly through Sansa. It would be an epic twist if the child Cersei mocked, abused and sneered at turned out to be her deadliest foe :squee:

Who knows maybe she's right for once ;) Margaery was the reason for why Joffrey was killed, and she is taking Tommen and power away from her

She was indirectly responsible for Joffrey's death :dead:

And she's taking Tommen away from her, by being nice to him

So I don't see how it could be anyone else. No oneexcpet Margaery and Sansa have taken someone Cersei holds dear ;)

But the only way Margaery can fully destroy Cersei is by saying her children are bastards form Cersei and Jaime's incestuous fornication. But then she wouldn't be queen

Then there's Arianne. Lord knows how; either she marries Aegon (but I do want Sansa to) or Dorne becomes independent. It would be fulfilling destiny where she takes the place as queen; something that belonged to Elia :) That's why I prefer her over Dany, she has more reasoning which is directly towards Cersei and the Lannisters.

Daenerys :D

It would be meaningless to both of them :( all of Cersei's mistakes and failures will mount to nothing. She won't realise how incompetent she actually is; so I don't want it to be her. Also she never took anything Cersei holds dear

The thing with the series is that the prophesys don't always come true or only partly true in some cases. Joffrey died before her and Tomen and Myrcella might die before it but it could just as easily end with them both living but Cersie still been replaced by and killed by the little brother.

The prophecy says they'll die before her, remember it was his death that triggered her paranoia because she saw it as the prophecy coming true.

What I find interesting about Maggie's curse is that minus Joffrey's death Cersei was making it come true by herself, there was no outside forces. So I want the queen to be someone she had a relationship with because it emphasises the fact that her alone is the cause of her downfall

Gotta say, Daenerys is looking like the obvious choice here. While it would be nice if it could be Sansa, it would be nice if Ned Stark still had a head. George RR Martin doesn't do nice plus she has no actual claim to a Kingdom anywhere as of last writing both Bran and Rickon are still alive and there is a northern lord who actually knows of Rickon's location.

Secondly Margaery's claim extends from Cersei's illegitimate children so bringing down one will likely take down both. And Arianne's best shot was a betrothal to Viserys who is now dead.

On the other hand Dany is already a Queen with a Kingdom of subject's who love her and an Army at her command (not to mention Dorne who is looking for any excuse to make common cause). She also has a fierce hatred for all things Lannister and Baratheon and Cersei has the misfortune of being the least popular person with both names.

The thing is I want the queen to be someone Cersei has a relationship with, that way it's personal and Cersei actually plays a part in her own downfall.

If it's Dany, the prophecy doesn't have the same impact on Cersei because it was out of her hands, even if she did somethings different a queen with 3 dragons will still be unstoppable. All Dany will see is the Usurper's wife, she doesn't have a vendetta against Cersei on a personal level neither will Cersei have any self awareness if the queen is someone's she's never even met.

With Sansa it's different:
1. She's Cersei's foil
2. They have a relationship
3. Cersei saw Sansa's face during the Walk of Shame; foreshadowing?
4. If Cersei had treated her differently Sansa wouldn't hold a vendetta
5. It's poetic irony if the girl Cersei constantly mocked and degraded turned out to be her greatest enemy

Ah, but if there's one thing about Game of Thrones, it's that no one is meant to learn a lesson.
So it could easily be Danaerys and Ceresi would die not learning what a bitch she is.

Would people support Sansa as queen? She could technically become Queen of the North, but Kings Landing? What clam would she have that isnt trumped by Margaery or Dany?

I just think it would be bad writing if in the end Cersei is destroyed by a stranger, very disappointing in my opinion. I'd very much rather the queen was someone who has a personal vendetta against Cersei, the queen should be someone who wants to destroy Cersei Lannister not the usurper's queen who is just one of her many enemies; as Dany would view her.

Sansa can still destroy Cersei by being Queen in the North, or she could marry Aegon (Henry VII/Elizabeth of York) and be queen consort of Kings Landing. Also I want the queen to be someone who can destroy Cersei through politics, because that's something Cersei cared for and took pride in.
